The leather upper is soft and seems durable, and the removable insole makes rinsing out sand so easy. My son wears them all day without complaining about sweaty feet thanks to the breathable lining.

These are the first shoes my daughter hasn't tried to kick off in the car. The leather is soft right out of the box and she can actually feel the ground when she runs, which seems to help her balance. The removable insole is a nice touch since we can size up a little.
